In May 2010, Craig Ford was appointed Secretary-Treasurer of District 1199J, replacing Pedro Franduiz who retired.   In 2011, he was officially elected into office.  Since 2005, he served as Vice-President of the Hospital Division of District 1199J and elected as National Secretary to the Executive Board of National Union of Hospital and Healthcare Employees (NUHHCE), AFSCME, AFL-CIO. 

In 1992 Mr. Ford became a National Organizer for the National Union (NUHHCE) where he was assigned to several states such as New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, California, New Mexico and Delaware.  By 1994, he was assigned to the Philadelphia District of 1199C, where he worked as an Administrative Organizer.  During this period, he served as a Trustee to the Legal Service Fund, Training Fund, Benefit Fund and Pension Fund of District 1199C.  In 2000, he became the State Director for New Jersey Home Care Division (NUHHCE/AFSCME).

With a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA), he is currently a Trustee of the Benefit, Pension & Title Holding Company Board of Trustees, and Training and Development Fund of District 1199J.  Mr. Ford is the Director of the 1199J Political Action Committee, Chairperson for the Aberdeen S. David Memorial Scholarship Fund, a Trustee Board Member of Hudson County Central Labor Council (AFL-CIO), a Board Member of New Jersey Labor Advisory Board to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).  He is a member of the New Jersey Chapters of Coalition of Black Trade Unionists and The A. Philip Randolph Institute of Essex and Hudson Counties, New Jersey Working Family Alliance, The New Jersey Democrats, The (COPE) Committee of Central Labor Council of Bergen County, Member of National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) New York Chapter, and Executive Board member of Kappa XI Lambda (Wall Street Chapter) Alpha Phi Alpha.
